My story

Hi, I'm Mia
Maldonado Bromberg

To those who are feeling overwhelmed, confused, and burnt out, welcome! I’m Mia (she/they), a queer and neurodivergent trauma therapist (ASW #129684) who provides a sanctuary for reclaiming your true self.

Together we can tend lovingly to whatever seems too big, complicated, confusing, vulnerable, scary or painful to get to the other side of alone.

My Identity As A Therapist

As a queer Boricua/Jewish lifelong activist, I feel grateful for all of the empowerment and wisdom my elders have passed on to me.

I see my role as a therapist as providing a sanctuary to fully experience all of the parts of yourself that have been pushed aside amid the overwhelming demands of our society.

My life experiences are what lead me to become the therapist I am today and allow me to connect with my clients on a personal level.

Helping People Is A Gift To Others, But Also Myself

Being a therapist is an honor.

I love guiding people towards figuring stuff out and seeing them finally getting the life they desire. The most rewarding thing about being a therapist is knowing that I had a part in helping someone else transform their life.

I am committed to encouraging you to see healing and transformation are possible.

I Have Empathy For Others And Bring Heart And Warmth To Sessions

I have a natural ability to:

Help people identify what they are feeling
Uncover what's under the surface
Be flexible on the path of discovering what's going on
Help clients heal their past and manage the present

People who know me often say that I am a good listener who can help people feel heard and understood which helps people feel seen and start to heal.

Our Sessions Are Focused
On You

Sessions will provide you with the space to focus on yourself without feeling selfish.

In feeling safe and comfortable, you'll be able to explore your thoughts, feelings, and goals and be understood and heard.

It's important to me to provide a non-judgemental space where you can be yourself and ensure that the process is collaborative. There isn't a "one size fits all" approach to therapy.

Our sessions will fit your specific needs and concerns.

As A Therapist, I Embrace The
Following Philosophies

I believe that there is no shame in asking for help
I believe that therapy should address the person as a whole - their mind, body, and spirit
I believe that people underestimate their ability to change. It's possible to change. It's possible to enjoy life again.
I believe that loving and accepting ourselves for who we are, scars and all, is one of the most courageous things we can do
I believe that we can stop feeling shame when we share our story with someone who can hear it with empathy and understanding
